Tuesday, July 18, 2023 - The Garrison Creek Riders Rodeo is gearing up for its 51st year of rodeo action. The rodeo is set to take place this Friday, July 21, and Saturday, July 22, at 8 p.m. each night.
Gates open nightly at 5 p.m. with an admission fee of $10 for those 13 years and older, $5 for ages 6–12, and children under the age of 6 are free.
The Garrison Creek Riders Rodeo will showcase a variety of action-packed events and entertainment. A few of the featured events include bareback riding, steer wrestling, calf roping, barrel racing, bull riding, team roping, saddle bronc riding, lady’s breakaway, and ranch bronc riding.
This year, the rodeo will host junior and peewee barrels. The Junior and peewee events are not sanctioned by CRRA; therefore, there is no need to call in. You can sign up in the crow’s nest prior to the rodeo each night.
Juniors have to be 10–15 years old as of 1/1/23 and have an entry fee of $25. Peewee’s are for those 9 and under as of 1/1/23 and have an entry fee of $15.
Special events consist of mutton bustin’ at 7:30 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday evenings. Mutton bustin’ sign-ups are from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. each night in the clubhouse, with a fee of $20. Youth must be under 60 pounds to ride.
In addition, on Saturday, there will be a rodeo dance and a live band featuring Libby Starks following the rodeo.
