Monday, March 11, 2024 - The Sequoyah County Resource Network is hosting its first-ever “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” competition and fundraiser. The fundraiser is scheduled for Monday, March 25, and takes place at the ICTC Community Center in Sallisaw at 6 p.m.
The event is based on the format of the hit TV show "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?" and aims to test the knowledge of contestants and community supporters.
All proceeds will go towards funding local community projects such as the back-to-school round-up, the Angel Tree Project, and the free annual community Thanksgiving dinner.
Everyone is invited to come out and watch the action go down as teams vie for the traveling trophy plus a year of bragging rights. General admission is $2 per person.
There will be no need to fix dinner because the concession stand will be featuring delicious Indian tacos and a drink for $10. The concession is set to open at 5 p.m.
Teams consist of 1–5 members, with a registration fee of $50. Businesses, civic groups, families, churches, and youth groups are all encouraged to sign up. The deadline to register a team is March 22.
To register your team, contact Melissa Lowe at Melissa.Lowe@kibois.org.
The ICTC Community Center is located at 401 Houser Rd. in Sallisaw.
