Drake extradited to Sequoyah County Jail to face first-degree murder charges

Friday, June 21, 2024 - 50-year-old Stacy Lee Drake, the suspect in a double-homicide that took place east of Sallisaw on Tuesday, was transported back to Sallisaw by officers with the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Department Friday at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Drake was arrested without incident in Morrilton, Arkansas on Thursday. He was extradited into the custody of the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Dept. and is currently being held in the Sequoyah County jail where he faces two charges of first-degree murder in the deaths of Tara Underwood and Taylor Sharp and one count of robbery with a weapon.

It's believed that Drake robbed and murdered two employees of LaFerry's Propane, east of Sallisaw, before stealing a vehicle from the parking lot. He then traveled to Morrilton, Ark where he was captured in surveillance camera in a hotel parking lot. A search in the surrounding area continued until Thursday when he was located and arrested.

Drake is suspected in an El Reno homicide and a Tuscaloosa, Ala homicide that occurred in May.

When asked if he had anything to say to the families of Underwood and Sharp, Drake did not respond.
