Halloween Events Planned

October is packed with fall harvest celebrations, carnivals, and trunk-or-treat events throughout Sequoyah County! As Halloween approaches, many of you may be wondering what fun events are planned in your town.


Here is a convenient list of the exciting activities happening this year:


Moffett Public School is hosting a Fall Carnival on Friday, Oct. 25, from 5-8 p.m. The carnival will offer a silent auction, a bounce house and slide, a cake walk, games, a photo booth, and much more.


Marble City adds to the fun with its downtown Trunk-or-Treat event on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 4-6 p.m. There will be a costume contest at 5 p.m., and a boy and a girl for each category will be chosen. Categories include infant kindergarten, grades 5-8, grades 9-12, adult male and female, and adult couples or groups. The best-decorated trunk or vehicle wins a prize at 5:30 p.m. and a pumpkin painting contest is set for adults, children, and big kids. Those wishing to participate in the trunk decorating contest need to arrive at 3:30 to get their “trunk” and candy ready before the big event begins.


Sallisaw First Assembly has scheduled a trunk or treat event on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 5-7 p.m. Children can expect decorated trunks, games, and candy. Sallisaw First Assembly is located at 514 Cherokee Ave. in Sallisaw.


On Tuesday, Oct. 29, bring the family out for some safe and spooky trick-or-treating in the Roland High School parking lot. The event takes place from 6-8 p.m.


Halloween on Elm Street is set to take place on Oct. 31 from 5-7 p.m. The event takes place on Elm Street in Sallisaw between Cherokee and Chickasaw and will offer lots of candy and fun.


Anchor Financial Services of Roland is hosting a trunk or treat on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 111 East Ray Fine Blvd. Bring the kids along for an exciting evening of trick-or-treating, and don’t forget to wear your costumes.


The “Harvest Spooktacular” takes place at 101 S. Main St. in Marble City on Oct. 31 starting at 6:30 p.m. The event is free, and organizations are invited to come out to decorate a booth and hand out candy. The best-decorated booth wins a prize. If you would like to set up a booth, you can RSVP by contacting Dru Didway at 539-230-1626.


Harry Robinson Sallisaw Ford is holding a trunk-or-treat on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 3-6 p.m. Dress up and bring the kids out for hamburgers, hot dogs, games, and candy.


Sequoyah County’s CCR/SART teams are hosting a free movie night in the park on October 31. The movie “Hocus Pocus” begins at 7:30 p.m. at Stage Park on Oak St. in Sallisaw. Make sure to wear your costumes to participate in the costume contest.


The Muldrow First Church of the Nazarene has scheduled a Trunk or Treat event for Oct. 31. The fun will be held from 6-8 p.m. with hotdogs, pop, candy, a bounce around, yard games, and train rides. The Muldrow First Church of the Nazarene is located at 1100 S. Main St. in Muldrow. 


Gans First Assembly of God is offering a fun and safe alternative to trick or treating. The church is hosting a fall festival on Thursday, Oct. 31, at 6 p.m. The event will have a bounce castle, games, popcorn, cotton candy, a desert walk, and more. The Gans First Assembly of God is located at 103 N. Stacy Ave. in Gans.
