Friday, June 21, 2024 - The Avis Jackson Show Arena at the Sequoyah County Fairgrounds will soon have a new look. Dirt work has been ongoing as the arena gets prepped for concrete to complete a brand-new show ring.
The project will cost a total of $35,000 to complete and is funded by Todd Martin ($1500), EO Junior Smith ($2000), Local Bank of Sallisaw ($1500), and Sequoyah County ($30,000).
Commissioner Jim Rogers stated, “The Sequoyah County Fairgrounds is a facility that services the entire county from one end to the other. We feel this is a great project that will benefit the community and are happy to assist with this project.”
The Sequoyah County Fair Board has expressed their gratitude to everyone who has helped to make this new show ring possible.
