Wednesday, May 5, 2021 - Warmer weather means more time for fun in the sun at splash pads around Sequoyah County.
The City of Sallisaw's Splash Pad opened May 1 at Jay Reynolds Park at 407 E. Iola. Operating hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily until summer's end.
Gore's park at the north edge of town is home to another Splash Pad. Officials with the town stated that the splash pad is not open for the summer yet but should be opening soon. Once open it will have operating hours of 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day.
Organizers in Muldrow plan to open the town's Splash Pad at Muldrow City Park on Saturday, May 29. Operating hours will also be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
Another Splash Pad is available to those who visit Greenleaf State Park. Guests there can purchase colored wristbands for $6 per day, babies 12 months and younger get in free. The park is open from
10 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day except Tuesdays.
