Wednesday, December 6, 2023 - The Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library has a month full of activities planned for both kids and adults of all ages.
On December 8 and 15, at 4 p.m., parents can bring their kids to the library’s Christmas ornament class. Children will get the opportunity to create two small Christmas ornaments to take home and add to their very own Christmas tree.
The adults won’t be left out because on Thursday, December 7, at 4 p.m., an adult ornament class will be taking place. Linda Copeland will guide attendees in creating a special Christmas ornament. All supplies are provided, and classes are free.
A kid’s science class will be offered on both December 11 and 18 at 4 p.m. Kids ages 6–11 are introduced to science, technology, engineering, art, and math during classes. On December 11, children will make snowmen stress balls, and on December 11, they will be making toilet paper roll bird feeders.
On Wednesday, December 13, library manager Bethia Owens is scheduled to share a book focusing on Oklahoma at the library’s book review luncheon at noon. A lunch is provided for those attending; however, seats must be reserved for the lunch. To reserve your seat, you can contact the library at 918-775-4481.
A library mystery is also planned for Wednesday, December 13 at 3:30 p.m. Come play a fun murder mystery game and resolve the murder at the Ugly Sweater office holiday party.
In addition, a gingerbread story time is planned for December 19 at 10:30 a.m., for ages 0-5. Toddlers will be making gingerbread houses as they are introduced to reading and social activities.
It's impressive how the library has developed such a diverse range of activities catering to different age groups and interests. So, make sure that you stop by and enjoy this engaging environment this holiday season.
