Bobby Jack Nichols
Wednesday, August 3, 2022 - A Muldrow man was charged July 26 with possession of a sawed-off shotgun, court records show.
Bobby Jack Nichols, 22, could face up to two years in prison and/or a fine of up to $1,000 if he is convicted.
On July 20, a Sequoyah County sheriff’s deputy was patrolling eastbound traffic on Highway 64 when a vehicle with defective taillights passed him headed westbound. The deputy turned his vehicle around and began to pursue the vehicle.
Once the car was stopped, the deputy approached the vehicle and met with Nichols, who showed his driver’s license but had no insurance verification.
Nichols admitted to having the sawed-off shotgun in the vehicle. In addition, a call to Sequoyah County dispatchers revealed that Nichols had a valid warrant in the county.
He was arrested on the warrant and transferred to the detention center.
