Marble City Mayor Signs Proclamation Declaring April Child Abuse Prevention Month

Monday, April 28, 2025- The Town of Marble City demonstrated its commitment to protecting children by holding a proclamation signing ceremony on Thursday, April 24, officially recognizing April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Marble City Mayor Tamara Hibbard led the event, signing the proclamation at the Marble City Festival Stage, with several community partners and advocates in attendance.
The ceremony highlighted the importance of raising awareness about child abuse prevention and encouraging the community to work together to support the safety and well-being of all children.
Community leaders emphasized that protecting children is a shared responsibility and praised the ongoing efforts of organizations and individuals dedicated to prevention and support services.
Mayor Hibbard expressed gratitude to those who attended and reaffirmed the town’s commitment to standing against child abuse, stating, “It takes a united effort to make a lasting difference.”
The proclamation signing was originally set to take place on April 5 at the Marble City Community Center during the 2nd annual Flutter Fest, hosted by the Sequoyah County Health Department. The event was canceled due to hazardous weather and has been rescheduled for June 7 at the Marble City Community Center from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m.
