Monday, July 24, 2023 - Oklahoma's tax-free weekend kicks off Friday, Aug. 4 at 12:01 a.m. and will run through Sunday, Aug. 6 at midnight. This is a great opportunity for back-to-school shopping and can help parents save some cash.
Most clothing and footwear priced at less than $100 will be exempt from sales tax during this period. Accessories and items designed for "athletic activity or protective use" will still be taxed.
This annual event benefits both consumers and retailers in the state by providing sales tax exempt shopping, according to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
All retailers may not charge tax on items that are tax-exempt during the sales tax holiday weekend.
