Wednesday, June 19, 2024 - A personal injury collision occurred Wednesday, June 19 at approximately 2:15 p.m. on State Highway 101 approximately .3 miles north of Sallisaw.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), Joseph Crowley, 26, of Sallisaw was walking eastbound in a ditch along Highway 101 when he jumped north into the center of the eastbound lane with his hand in the air facing west. Crowley was struck by an eastbound vehicle.
Crowley was transported by Survival Flight to St Francis Hospital in Tulsa with leg and head injuries where he was admitted in fair condition.
OHP was assisted at the scene by Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Department, Brushy Fire Department, Central Fire Department, Pafford EMS and Survival Flight.
