River Valley Pig Gig event set for Jan. 13

Monday, January 8, 2024 - The Sequoyah County Fair Board will be hosting the River Valley Pig Gig on January 13. The show will take place at the Sequoyah County Fairgrounds starting at 10 a.m.


The cost for entry on the day of the show is $25. The Showmanship entry fee is $5. All entries are due by 9 a.m. on the day of the show.

The show will offer a $500 grand prize and a $350 reserve with buckles for overall and reserve champions, cash, and banners for all breed champions. There will also be drawings held throughout the event.


Those planning to attend can message the River Valley Pig Gig on Facebook to reserve pens and trailer spots. Maps are also available on Facebook.


The 2024 River Valley Pig Gig judge was recently announced as Corey Pell. Divisions will include peewee for ages 9 and under, juniors for ages 10-13, and seniors for ages 14 and up.


In addition, a full concession, including a hot breakfast, burgers, and more will be available. All proceeds raised will go toward supporting the Sequoyah County Fairgrounds.


The Sequoyah County Fair Grounds is located at 464101 E. 1070 Rd in Sallisaw.
