Sequoyah County Christmas Parades kick off Thursday, Dec. 7

Saturday, December 2, 2023 - Christmas parades are always a crowd-pleaser and at the top of the list of events to attend this time of year. Sequoyah County will not disappoint with parades scheduled for December 7 and 9.


The Vian Lions Club kicks off the list of Christmas parades on Thursday, December 7. The parade line-up begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Vian Baptist Church parking lot, with the parade starting at 6 p.m. This year, two prizes will be awarded. The grand prize winner will receive $100, and an honorable mention will receive $50. The parade theme for 2023 is “Stars and Stripes." If you or your organization would like to be a part of this year’s parade, stop by the town hall and pick up your entry form.


Webbers Falls will host a “Your Favorite Christmas Movie” themed parade on December 9 at 10 a.m. The parade line-up will be held in front of SRS.


The town of Gore's Christmas parade theme is “Favorite Christmas Movie." The parade is scheduled for December 9 at 11 a.m. If you would like to be in this year’s parade lineup, call 918-489-2636. Make sure you head over to Ray Fine Park directly after the parade, as the town of Gore hosts “Santa at the Park." The event will provide craft kits, keepsake ornaments, Santa and Mrs. Clause, and live reindeer! In addition, there will be hot chocolate, cookies, and hotdogs for everyone.


The Roland Area Chamber of Commerce is up next with the town's annual Christmas Parade beginning at 12 p.m. on December 9. The theme for this year’s parade is "Christmas in the Movies." Staging for the parade starts at 9:30 a.m. in the Roland High School parking lot. The parade will head south on Roland Road, ending at the Roland Hills shopping center.


Then it’s onto the annual Christmas parade in downtown Marble City. The parade takes place on December 9 at 2 p.m. Make sure to visit the Historic Citizens State Bank for hot chocolate and cookies. Schools, churches, businesses, non-profits, and more are invited to bring floats, 4-wheelers, horses, and other parade vehicles. The line-up begins at 1 p.m. north of town.

The Muldrow Lions Club is next in line and will be hosting the town of Muldrow's Christmas parade on December 9 at 5:30 p.m. The theme this year will be “Christmas Movies.”


Sallisaw’s annual Christmas parade will wrap up the day of parades on December 9 at 6:30 p.m., with the parade theme set as “Your Favorite Christmas Movie.” The line-up for the parade begins at 5:30 p.m. on Choctaw Street. Float entries will be divided into four categories: business, school and school organizations, churches and non-profits, and farms. Parade entry forms can be located at the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce. If you aren't able to come out to the Sallisaw parade in person, The Mix 105.1 will be broadcasting the event live on The Mix Facebook page and MixTV Channel 19.


So lay out the hats and gloves, pack up the chairs, and make plans to attend Christmas parades in Sequoyah County!
