Tuesday, August 23, 2022 - The 2022 Sequoyah County Fair is quickly approaching and will feature a variety of exhibits, livestock, and a market show. The Sequoyah County Fairgrounds, located at 464101 E. 1070 Rd. in Sallisaw, will host the three-day event on September 8, 9, and 10.
Sequoyah County OSU extension agriculture and 4-H educator Jace Goodwin said, "The Sequoyah County fair is a fun and free event for all ages. Everyone is welcome to attend, regardless of whether they are entering items to be judged or just coming out to view the exhibits."
This year’s schedule of events includes the following:
-Thursday, September 8, check-in for non-perishables will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
-Friday, September 9, perishables can be checked in from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Judging will begin at 10 a.m., and exhibits will be open for public viewing from 1 to 4 p.m.
-Saturday, September 10, exhibits will be open for public viewing from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Indoor exhibit items will need to be picked up from 4 to 5 p.m.
-The livestock show will be held on Saturday, with the 4-H/FFA Jr. Livestock Show acting as a market show at 11 a.m. Animal check-in begins at noon and includes hogs, lambs, goats, cattle, poultry, and rabbits.
-The 4-H/FFA showmanship, for 8–18-year olds, will take place ten minutes after the completion of the livestock show.
-The peewee showmanship, for 7-year-olds and younger, will begin ten minutes after the 4-H/FFA Jr. livestock showmanship.
-The alumni showmanship of all former 4-H/FFA showmen will start ten minutes after the peewee showmanship concludes.
