Friday, August 25, 2023 - The Sequoyah County Fair Board is once again sponsoring the Sequoyah County Fall Free Fair from September 7 to September 9.
This 3-day event is set to take place at the Sequoyah County Fairgrounds in Sallisaw and will feature a variety of exhibitions.
The Sequoyah County Fall Free Fair is open to the public at no charge and caters to individuals of all ages.
"Whether you are interested in showcasing your entries for judging or simply looking forward to enjoying the exhibits, the fair is the place to be", Sequoyah County OSU extension agriculture and 4-H educator Jace Goodwin said.
The 2023 schedule of events is listed below:
On Thursday, September 7, check-in for non-perishables takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On Friday, September 8, perishables can be checked in from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Judging of indoor items will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and exhibits will be open for public viewing from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
On Saturday, September 9, indoor exhibits will be open for public viewing from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. From 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., livestock may enter the barn and register, and at 1 p.m., the 4-H and FFA livestock show begins. The livestock show includes poultry, rabbits, hogs, goats, sheep, and cattle.
Showmanship begins 30 minutes after the livestock show and includes 4-H, FFA, alumni, and peewees.
The Kiddy Show will start 30 minutes after the showmanship classes conclude.
So, whether you're participating in this year's fair activities or planning to explore the many diverse exhibits, everyone is encouraged to attend.
