Monday, March 24, 2025 - The Sequoyah County Resource Network is gearing up for its 2nd annual “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” competition and fundraiser. The event is set for Monday, March 31, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the ICTC Community Center, located at 401 Houser Rd. in Sallisaw.
Based on the popular TV show format, the game will test the knowledge of teams made up of local contestants and community supporters who work together to answer questions in a fun and engaging way. Teams will compete for the coveted traveling trophy and a year of bragging rights, currently held by Forever Memories Funeral Home.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will support vital community projects, including the back-to-school round-up, the Angel Tree Project, and the free annual community Thanksgiving dinner.
General admission is just $2 per person, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early, as the concession stand will open at 5 p.m., offering food for purchase, so there's no need to cook dinner beforehand.
Teams can consist of 1 to 5 members, with a registration fee of $50. Businesses, civic groups, families, churches, and youth organizations are encouraged to join the competition.
The deadline to register a team is March 26. To sign up, contact Melissa Lowe at Melissa.Lowe@kibois.org.
Don’t miss the chance to support local community initiatives and enjoy an evening of fun and friendly competition!
