Wednesday, June 2, 2021 - Downtown Marble City will be hopping Saturday, when the annual Spring Fling and Farmer's Market returns.
Tamara Hibbard, a member of the Marble City Council for 16 years, said Wednesday that this year's event will include a to-go breakfast at the old Citizens State Bank building, arts and crafts, food vendors and yard sales. Gospel music will fill the air all morning.
The Grab and Go Breakfast at the bank will begin at 7:00 am. Sausage gravy and biscuits, breakfast sandwiches, sweet rolls, orange juice and coffee will be available.
Homemade fried pies will be ready by 10:00, including cherry, raisin, blueberry, apple and peach.
Enchiladas, rice and beans will be available for lunch.
Booth space at the event is free and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
There will be a kids' zone featuring face-painting, games, train rides and more, as well as country music featuring the Outlaw Sons, Country Express and The Disciples.
Hibbard said vendors usually start setting up their booths around 7-8 a.m. and the fun normally lasts through the afternoon, but “if everybody is having fun we may just keep on going,” she said.
