The Roland Chamber of Commerce is reeling in excitement as it prepares to host a Youth Fishing Derby at the Town of Roland’s very own lake, offering a morning of fishing, food, and family fun.
Set for Saturday, April 26, the event is open to children ages 4 to 16, with pre-registration required for each participant. Space is limited, and each child must have their registration form, which can be found on the Roland Area Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
To ensure a smooth experience, participants will be assigned to one of two fishing waves based on the order of registration. The first wave begins at 9:00 a.m., and the second wave will follow at 11 a.m.
All fishing will take place from the bank, and participants are asked to arrive 15 minutes early to prepare. Prizes will be awarded for both the Biggest Fish and Most Fish Caught, adding a competitive twist to the day’s festivities.
Organizers remind parents and guardians that all participants must be accompanied by an adult (18+), and everyone is encouraged to wear a life jacket for safety.
Whether you're an experienced angler or casting a line for the first time, the Roland Youth Fishing Derby promises a memorable day at the lake for everyone.
